In 1992, Tom van der Scheun began selling model cars. What started on a small scale gradually grew into a broader and more extensive assortment. This development led to a move to the centre of Middenbeemster.

There, the company experienced significant growth. The shop was filled with the latest models in all price categories. In almost every field, collectors could find something of interest. The relaxed atmosphere allowed enthusiasts to browse the shop at their leisure.

Service also became increasingly important. Whenever possible, models were reordered. Direct imports, mainly from the United States, gave the shop its own distinctive character.

After relocating to Purmerend, the past remains very much alive. Service, personal attention and a carefully selected assortment, with more than 10,000 models in stock at all times, continue to be the foundation of Tom's Modelauto's success.

Thanks to in-depth knowledge of the market, both from the manufacturer’s and the customer’s perspective, the collector’s market is continuously supplemented with new products. Direct import also makes competitive pricing possible.
